POSSA was born from a spark lit in Ohio—but its fuel came from far beyond.
It began in 2019, when 36 members of DOCO (Dynamique Ouest Cameroun d'Ohio), an Ohio nonprofit, 501 (c)(3), built around mutual support, founded a private company called Doco Drive, Inc. This member-owned, for profit, S Corporation was created to serve only the DOCO community, using the principle of common ownership to build wellness, wealth, and justice— together.
The impact was undeniable. So much so that the then Coordinator of the All Bamileke Convention of North America (ABC–North America)—the largest Cameroonian gathering in North America—George Ngwanyia, after learning of Doco Drive’s work on November 16, 2020, invited Chairman Wilfrid Muiche and board member Raoul Wane to share the story with ABC’s full leadership during their upcoming meeting on January 24, 2021.
ABC–North America had long dreamed of launching a credit union but recognized the challenges that came with scale and structure. Wilfrid and Raoul’s message was clear: start small, grow intentionally, and build the systems first—just like Doco Drive was doing.
But what happened next changed everything.
The ABC–North America leaders replied, "That small start—it's already here. It’s Doco Drive."
They didn't want to recreate it. They wanted to join it.
The challenge? Doco Drive’s bylaws did not allow outside communities to join. It was built exclusively for DOCO and wasn’t meant to scale—at least not so soon. But the call from the broader diaspora was too loud to ignore.
After multiple member meetings, rounds of debate, leadership updates with ABC–North America, and two years of careful deliberation, the members of Doco Drive made a bold and historic decision: to open the doors.
That decision became official on July 28, 2023, with the promulgation of the amended bylaws by the Chairman of Doco Drive. And so, POSSA was born.
What the founders ultimately realized was simple and profound: Ohio may have started this— but it never owned, and never will own, the outcome. Like the Wright brothers’ first flight, it was an Ohio-born innovation—but now, it belongs to the world.”
At POSSA, we believe that wellness, wealth, and justice are not privileges—they’re rights.
Our mission is to build a member-owned ecosystem where overlooked communities gain the tools, knowledge, and structure to invest in themselves—and each other.
We envision a world where the African Diaspora and other underserved populations can own, govern, and grow what uplifts them—from financial systems to housing, healthcare, and legal access.
Our values are more than words—they are the engine behind every decision, every policy, and every initiative. Together, they form the compass that keeps us honest, innovative, united, and transparent. These values ground our purpose and shape how we grow: with integrity, with intention, and always with each other.
At POSSA, we earn trust through radical clarity. From financials to decision-making, our members are never left in the dark—because we believe transparency is the foundation of shared power. We openly communicate challenges, progress, and choices so that every member knows not just what is happening, but why. This is how we build confidence and collective ownership— one truth at a time.
Integrity is our backbone. We choose what’s right over what’s easy—even when no one’s watching. Our word holds weight, our actions reflect our mission, and our leadership is accountable to those we serve. We protect our community’s trust by staying grounded in ethical principles, standing firm through adversity, and honoring every commitment with discipline and courage.
We are builders—and bold ones. At POSSA, innovation means more than new tools. It’s a mindset: always searching for new, legal, and sustainable ways to improve our lives. We embrace automation, data, and AI to do more with less, simplify the complex, and increase impact across every initiative. We’re unafraid of new ideas, open to change, and constantly exploring smarter systems—because our communities deserve solutions as dynamic as their dreams.
We don’t move alone—because true power is shared. POSSA thrives through cooperation, shared leadership, and mutual respect. Our members come from diverse backgrounds, but we are united in purpose. We collaborate across differences, support one another’s growth, and celebrate collective wins—knowing that our strength multiplies when we rise together.
POSSA was not just created to function—it was engineered to support. Its structure is designed to be the backbone for its members, offering stability when life feels unstable. Whether you're navigating financial stress, legal uncertainty, or simply looking for a stronger future, POSSA is where you can turn for real solutions. It’s peace of mind. It’s protection. It’s partnership that actually works.
At POSSA, every member is an owner—with a voice, a stake, and a support system built around them. It’s not just shared ownership. It’s shared strength when you need it most.
POSSA is built to last—and to be passed on. When a member is gone, their ownership and impact live on through their successor. It’s more than legacy. It’s continuity by design.
Everything POSSA does begins with community. We form real partnerships, support local growth, and reinvest where it matters most—because our future is built together.
